Writing a Comparison Paragraph

Goal: Write a paragraph comparing an animal cell to a check cell. 

Agenda:

School Canceled Due to Air Quality

Hello Students,
today school was canceled due to concerns about the air quality due to the fires. Hope to see you back in session tomorrow, Thursday.

Plant Cell vs Animal Cell

Goal: Be able to write a paragraph comparing a plant cell to an animal cell. Be able to list five differences between plant and animal cells.    

Agenda:
1. Review using white boards.
2. Review Cell Comparison Lab worksheet.
3. Writing terms: thesis sentence, transition words, supporting evidence and conclusion.

Reminder: Finish answering questions 1-6 on the back of the Cell Comparison Lab. We will write the paragraph tomorrow.

Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic Cells

Goal: Write a paragraph explaining the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic as well as being able to list parts that are found in all cells.  

Agenda: I will at a biology conference in San Diego. 
1. You will need 3 handouts.
2. Follow the instructions on the assignment handout.
3. Color both the animal cell and plant cell handouts.

Presenting Your First Iron Chef

This was for Monday 10/29/18. 

Goal: Present your slide, make eye contact with your audience, use a clear and loud voice. 

Agenda:

Learning a New Protocol - Iron Chef

Goal: Be able to 1) share a slide deck on google, 2) change the font on a slide, 3) copy pictures onto a slide. Be able to 4) summarize a reading, 5) create a slide deck that summarizes the important details, and 6) present your slide.

Agenda:
1. DUE: Animal behavior benefits on page 30.

Iron Chef: Have ONE person from your group go to Google Classroom, click on Classwork, click on the link for the Iron Chef slide deck and share the deck with the rest of the people in your group. Instructions for sharing the deck are on the slide deck.

Learning Google Slides

Goal: Be able to 1) save a slide deck in a folder, 2) change font size, 3) insert, crop, and change the transparency of a picture, 4) use word art, and 5) change the background a slide.

Agenda: 
1. Click on the link in your Google Classroom to watch the tutorial video. 
2. Click on the slide deck link to get a copy. This will be your canvas to practice. 
3. Pause and replay the video as needed. 

Reminder: Check your grade on StudentVue often and turn in your missing assignments before the deadline.

Goal: The Biome Food Web Project requires you to demonstrate you can create a food web and an energy pyramid answer questions regarding the movement of energy through an ecosystem.
