INB Catch-Up

Goal: Self-assess your work in the INB and get your INB ready to turn in.

Writing a Comparison Paragraph

Goal: Write a paragraph comparing an animal cell to a check cell. 

Agenda: 
1. Review of paragraph requirements
2. Writing time

School Canceled Due to Air Quality

Hello Students,
today school was canceled due to concerns about the air quality due to the fires. Hope to see you back in session tomorrow, Thursday.

Plant Cell vs Animal Cell

Goal: Be able to write a paragraph comparing a plant cell to an animal cell. Be able to list five differences between plant and animal cells.    

Agenda:
1. Review using white boards.
2. Review Cell Comparison Lab worksheet.
3. Writing terms: thesis sentence, transition words, supporting evidence and conclusion.

Reminder: Finish answering questions 1-6 on the back of the Cell Comparison Lab. We will write the paragraph tomorrow.

Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic Cells

Goal: Write a paragraph explaining the difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic as well as being able to list parts that are found in all cells.  

Agenda: I will at a biology conference in San Diego. 
1. You will need 3 handouts.
2. Follow the instructions on the assignment handout.
3. Color both the animal cell and plant cell handouts.

Cell Comparison Lab

Goal: Be able to explain the differences between an animal cell (your cheek cell) and a plant cell (an elodea cell).

Agenda: follow the directions on the lab worksheet. You should finish the front side today.

Reminder: Tomorrow is the last day I will accept late food web projects

Virtual Microscope Lab

Goal: Practice reading and following directions. Be able to name the parts of the microscope and their functions. Be able to prepare a slide. 

Agenda:
1. Go to your Google classroom to find the links you will use to fill in your worksheet or click here. 

2. Turn it in when finished.
3. Read the directions to the lab you will complete on Monday.
